Pte. Daniels was a member of one of the Stretcher parties supplied by the 15th. Battalion for the attack near PASSCHENDAELE on the 6th of November, 1917. It was necessary to pass through some extremely heavy shelling while carrying casualties to the Dressing Station. The N.C.O. in charge of the party was instantly killed, and Pte. Daniels immediately took charge of the party and bravely continued his work throughout the remainder of the day. In the evening of the 8th of November, he organized a Burial Party to go to the forward area near PASSCHENDAELE and buried two N.C.O.s of his Company, during a very heavy bombardment. His bravery on these two occasions are deserving of the greatest praise.
