Arthur Mercer
was born in Scotland on September 17th, 1881. He came to Canada in 1907 and farmed in the West Bend area of Saskatchewan. On April 13th, 1908, Arthur married Alice Harriet Johnson. They had 4 children, one of which did not survive.
In July 1919, Arthur was admitted into the 100th Battalion. It is believed that in September 1923, he left for Chicago to go back to sea. He was last heard from in April 1924.
It is believed that Arthur was a crewmember of a James Kerr Ship.
Arthur's grandaughter is searching for information about him. If anyone knew Arthur Mercer or can provide any information at all, it would be very appreciated if you could contact me at the address below. Thank you.
UPDATE:
A viewer from Petawawa, Ontario has provided the following follow-up information:

The web site for the Bank of Canada .ca shows that there is only one
Mercer listed and it is Arthur. In the unclaimed balances he has $635.06
which was last used in 1976. and was located in a bank in St John's NFLD.
Maybe it could be the same person if he was a sea going person.
