A viewer of this website has, in their possession, a box of letters and photographs from Word War II that relate to a soldier whose name is Tropper Robert Diffin STRACHAN. They believe that they would be of value, sentimental or otherwise, to his descendents and would like to pass them on to them. The viewer has endeavoured to find the family, but to no avail.
The STRACHAN family were from Glasgow, Scotland and settled in Toronto (Yorkville Avenue) between 1919 and 1924.
Trooper STRACHAN's Service Number was SB70016 and was with the 3rd Canadian Armoured Reconnaissance Regiment. He was known as Bob, Bobby, or Rocky. He left for overseas on October 9, 1941.
The picture of Robert STRACHAN was taken November 20, 1944.
