Vol. C. MURRAY

A viewer of this website has an old service bracelet that was at the bottom of a box they acquired at an auction in Guelph, Ontario. She is interested in trying to track down the family of the owner of the bracelet and return it to them. Click to Enlarge

A picture of the bracelet is shown. The inscription on the front reads:

    W/5070 Vol.C.Murray
    CWAC
    CDN RC
The back of the bracelet reads "gold filled 3000"

UPDATE:
  • The bracelet appears to be from someone who belonged to the Canadian Women's Army Corps between 1941 and 1946. Her Service Number was W/5070.
  • The WarMuseum.ca website has a good write up on CWAC (do a search for CWAC)
  • It's odd that the bracelet might not have the CWAC unit# on it. There is a list of the CWAC Units across Canada at Regiments.org
  • The "RC" inscription might refer to the Reserve Corps or it might refer to "Roman Catholic" (as did the viewer's father's RCAF dog tags).

[Editor] If anyone can provide any information at all, it would be very appreciated if you could contact me at the address below. Thank you.
