Arthur UNDERWOOD Sr.

1) Introduction

When the First World War broke out, Arthur's older brother, Jack was one of the first to enlist with the Lord Strathcona Horse outfit. He was killed in action at Courcelette, France. Arthur followed his oldest brother into the Service. He joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force in December of 1915. He served in France with the 10th Battalion and received the Distinguished Conduct Medal and Bravery in the field Medals.
